Princess Charlotte made a surprise appearance as she and dad Prince William had some soccer Sunday fun!

On Sunday, July 27, the Prince of Wales, 43, and Princess Charlotte, 10, stepped out in Switzerland to attend the final of the UEFA Women’s EURO 2025, which England’s national team is competing in. The outing marked Charlotte’s first overseas soccer game.

Prince William appeared in his role as patron of the Football Association, English soccer’s governing body. He traveled to the high-stakes match at St. Jakob-Park in Basel in a show of support for England’s women’s soccer squad, which is nicknamed the Lionesses.

It was confirmed on July 23 that Prince William would attend the final, in which England will go for the trophy at the tournament that the team last won in 2022.

William is a passionate soccer fan and has cheered for the Lionesses’ journey at the Euros this year, visiting the squad at St. George’s Park before they departed and traveling to Switzerland for their match against the Netherlands on July 9.

Prince William appeared at the Euros during his family’s unofficial summer break, as his kids, which also include Prince George, 12, and Prince Louis, 7, are out of the classroom for summer vacation.

Prince William and Kate Middleton scale back their schedules when their children are out of school in order to spend extra time together as a family, and even King Charles traditionally scales back his schedule between late July and August to relax and recharge before the fall.

The Prince and Princess of Wales recently brought Prince George and Princess Charlotte to the gentlemen’s singles final of the Wimbledon Championships in London on July 13, when the family watched the match from the front row of the Royal Box.

William and Charlotte have previously teamed up to wish the squad luck at major matches by sending personal messages on social media.
